Sarita R. Colvin

Founder & Board Chair


I didn't die. I lived! And now I'm telling the world what GOD did.

Sarita Colvin, is a native of St. Louis, Missouri and currently resides in Birmingham, Alabama. She graduated from Saint Louis University with a Master's in Social Work and a Master's in Public Health with an emphasis on social justice. She is currently pursuing her Doctorate of Social Work at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville with research interests medical related PTSD and effective, standardized treatment for faith-based communities. 

She currently works as a psycho-spiritual therapist in the Huntsville, AL and greater Birmingham, AL areas. When she is not working or studying, Sarita enjoys volunteering, the creative arts, movies, baking, and traveling. 


"I've worked as a clinical social worker for 15 years. As a healer, I've guided many individuals during their healing journey. Whether it was related to their physical or mental health, there was a key component many were missing. Hope. Hope to live. Hope to survive. Hope to thrive. I am privileged to have brought them the hope they needed. And in that hope, Scolvin Foundation was forged." 

Dr. Ernestine Clements

 Medical Co-Chair

Ernestine Clements, DO, MPH is a Birmingham native who has always had a passion for helping others and being of service to others even from a very young age.  She currently works serving others as a Family Medicine physician in a local federally-qualified health center. In her spare time,

 she is often working with the youth at her church. 

Her hopes for serving with the Scolvin Foundation are to help support and care for those living with HIV, MS, and Lupus. This care and support will hopefully extend to loved ones and caretakers.

TaLisa K. Lowery, Esq.

TaLisa Jones-Lowery was born and raised in St. Louis, Missouri. 

She graduated from Jackson State University in Jackson, MS with a BA in English. Subsequently, she matriculated to law school and obtained her JD from Thurgood Marshall School of Law in Houston, Texas. 


TaLisa currently resides in Houston with her husband and two beautiful children. She is a practicing attorney, certified NBA agent, and fiction writer.  TaLisa is also a member of Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc. In her role as the Legal Co-Chair for the Scolvin Foundation, TaLisa has the opportunity to combine her passion for service with the foundation's mission & vision for individuals living with chronic illnesses.

Fiks Dlamini

 International Co-Chair

Fikeveni Dlamini, originally from the Kingdom of Eswatini is currently based in Memphis, Tennessee. His lifelong passion has always been providing good water quality in developing countries.  Similarly, Scolvin shares this same dedication of improving lives for our global community.

Tamekia Willis

Treasurer/ General Board 

Member

  Tamekia Willis is a passionate paralegal who loves to walk with others to encourage and motivate as they go through life-changing events. 

Tamekia earned her Associate Degree in Applied Science from Jefferson State Community College. She earned a Bachelor of Science in Interdisciplinary Studies and a Paralegal Studies Certificate from Samford University in Birmingham, Alabama. Tamekia has one biological daughter, a son-in-law, an adopted daughter, and three grandchildren. She is completing her Minister in Training program at The Worship Center Christian Church in Birmingham, AL. As a member of the Scolvin Foundation, Tamekia will strive to plan events to raise funds to help support treatment, testing and other assistance needed for those diagnosed with Lupus, MS, and HIV/AIDS.  

Pastor Brittny Frazier

Board Chaplain


 “Believe in your healing, ‘Delight yourself in the Lord, and he will give you the desires of your heart. - Psalm 37:4” 


 Dr. Brittny Frazier is a dedicated wife, mother, and disciple of Jesus Christ. 

She serves her local community in Birmingham, Alabama as a pharmacist and an Associate Campus Pastor at The Worship Center Christian Church. 

Brittny is fulfilled by spreading God’s love through smiles and sharing her gift to nurture others. As a board member and Chaplain of The Scolvin Foundation, she believes that lives will be touched beyond financial merit and draw individuals closer to The Creator.

  • Possess a heart of philanthropy and service, a perspective of hope and excellence, and a passion for community and partnership
  • Attend and contribute to a minimum of five (5) bi-monthly board meetings per year 
  • Serve a term of three (3) years 
  • Practice honesty and integrity in fulfilling their responsibilities and comply with all applicable laws and regulations 
  • Participate in the advocacy and fundraising efforts that enable the foundation to accomplish its established mission, vision, and purpose

  • Possess a heart of philanthropy and service, a perspective of hope and excellence, and a passion for community and partnership
  • Attend and contribute to a minimum of five (5) bi-monthly board meetings per year 
  • Serve a term of three (3) years 
  • Keep a book of minutes of all meetings and actions of the chair, co-chairs, and general members, and be familiar with Robert's Rules of Order
  • Practice honesty and integrity in fulfilling their responsibilities and comply with all applicable laws and regulations 
  • Participate in the advocacy and fundraising efforts that enable the foundation to accomplish its established mission, vision, and purpose
